The Twitter Data team is looking for an outstanding Account Manager to help our core customer set best utilize our technologies to build world-class social media data solutions. The Data team at Twitter delivers powerful data technology and services to Solution Providers in multiple segments. In turn those Solution Providers build an amazing array of tools that uncover insights and information that can be found through no other methodologies. Their customers may be marketers at a Brand like Coca-Cola, natural disaster relief organizations, finance businesses, media companies, advertising agencies, just to name a few. Social Data has unlimited value and near limitless application.
What You’ll Do
As the Account Manager - Data Accounts in the Data Group at Twitter, you will play a key role driving deeper relationships with our partners around product and alliance initiatives. To ensure consistent, measurable and sustainable partnerships, you will be responsible for alignment of Twitter Data Services with partner’s sales and product teams.
Your initial focus areas will concentrate on partners within the social media monitoring (SMM) and services space. We want these partners to innovate breakthrough functionality that features and showcases Twitter Data; the Account Manager will play a critical role in arming partners with the knowledge and tools to develop and sell in these ideas to their clients. You will be accountable for driving revenue growth and relationships with these ecosystem partners via alliances, education, client partnering and ideation.
Who You Are
We’re looking for an Account Manager with a strong relationship building skills that can also focus on growth and revenue initiatives within their customer base. The ideal candidate would find themselves equally at home working on renewing a yearly SaaS contract with a customer or pitching new products to secure an upsell opportunity. Our Account Managers are heavily sales focused vs. ‘customer support’ focused.
If this sounds like it might be you, you would comfortably:
• Serve as a liaison between SMM Partners and Twitter to help them develop and build first class solutions for brands
• Focus on retention through renewals and upsell
• Management of 100-150 accounts that represent the lower tier of Gnip’s monthly revenue base - high quantity, more transactional relationships
• Build replicable channel partnership processes
• Grow revenue through increased penetration of current markets (with current products), management of new solutions
• Build strong relationships with partners and develop understanding of partner products, business lines and key objectives
• Consult about use and set-up of Twitter data, visualizations and other ways to display real-time Twitter activity within partner’s environments
• Meet and exceed revenue goals by driving revenue opportunities through partners, into Twitter, and to a successful sales close
• Ensure that partners’ voice, opinions, ideas and feedback are being conveyed back to Twitter and its Marketing and Product Development teams. Provide input to Product Marketing & Product teams about partner insights and needs for new products, features and solutions
• Work with Product Marketing and Packaging teams on sales materials development
Requirements:
• BA/BS degree preferred: Masters degree or equivalent experience a plus
• 2+ years of relevant sales experience preferred
• Experience independently negotiating and closing partner deals
• Sharp strategic thinker who can design and execute on a vision. History of running quickly with little supervision.
• Ability to adapt to and lead through fast-paced, high-growth, uncertain environments.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Ability to speak fluently to senior executives, salespeople and product managers.
• Ability to partner within cross-functional teams
• Ability to consult and bring ideas to the table
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to build internal networks to accomplish goals through collaboration with resources across teams
• Can balance the need for quick turnaround with longer-term strategic efforts
• Is flexible and can deal effectively with changes in priorities or ambiguity
• Is driven and solution-oriented and can overcome obstacles to drive projects through completion
• Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
• Strong Google documents and SalesForce.com skills
