VML Kansas City is looking for a savvy and self-motivated Employee Experience (HR) Senior Generalist to join our team. As an integral member of VML, this role is responsible for supporting a full range of Human Resources initiatives for VML Kansas City and other VML offices as assigned. This is a unique position for a unique individual who has a passion for promoting and supporting an “employee experience” rather than simply doing the typical “HR stuff.”
The Employee Experience Senior Generalist will support HR strategies and goals by:
• Partnering closely with the KC HR office lead and agency leaders to grow a dynamic performance culture
• Supporting the daily HR operations for assigned offices
• Providing exceptional employee service and support by responding timely and accurately to general employee questions and requests
• Helping drive successful delivery of HR programs and processes that support VML to deliver a “best places to work” culture and positive employee experiences
• Assisting with the implementation of strategies for employee retention, motivation and engagement and diversity and inclusion
• Acting as a trusted advisor for VML employees and leaders alike

Required Skills:
• Able to manage and deliver HR programs in an entrepreneurial and creative culture
• Able to multitask and go with the flow — flexibility is key
• Must be organized, proactive and detail-oriented, and able to follow up
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact with a wide variety of personalities under varied circumstances
• Great can-do attitude combined with a strong work ethic
• Proven track record within multiple HR disciplines: employee relations, training and development, performance management, diversity and inclusion
• SAP HRIS experience a plus
Required Experience:
• 2 to 5 years of progressively responsible HR experience, with at least two at a generalist level.
• Strong generalist background, including benefits knowledge
• Experience with immigration practices
• Experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in business, HR or a related field or the equivalent combination of experience is required
• HR certification a plus, but not mandatory
• Experience working in an advertising agency, new media, high-tech or professional services field is preferred; experience and high comfort level with a fast-paced, high-volume work environment is a must
• Proficient knowledge of best practices from past employers, professional networks and continuing education
• Strong preference for past experience with a best-in-class employer with strong, innovative HR practices and a vibrant culture
