Our team advances the strategic development of Bertelsmann's businesses in growth regions, a key element of Bertelsmann's corporate strategy, currently focusing on Brazil, India and China. In this role, the team supports the CEO and the Executive Board of Bertelsmann with e.g. analyses of new revenue potential for established businesses in the respective markets as well as the evaluation of venture capital investments primarily within digital media and education as part of the division Bertelsmann Investments.
Your challenges
As an Associate (m/f) at "Growth Regions", you will be a member of an international team, working closely with the investment funds and corporate offices in China, India and Brazil. The position is located at Bertelsmann's global headquarters in Gütersloh. In this role, you will be part of the growth of Bertelsmann Investments, a new division which bundles Bertelsmann's stakes in startups around the world.
Your tasks include your support with:
• Conceptual development of the Bertelsmann strategy for growth regions with corporate and local teams
• Analysis and decision preparation of corporate venture capital investments and monitoring of existing portfolio companies of Bertelsmann Investments
• Consulting and supporting the local business units in their growth and investment activities
• Positioning relevant topics in the different internal committees (Supervisory Board, Executive Board, Group Management Committee, Investment Committees, etc.)
• Conception and implementation of top management conferences in the growth regions
Your profile
You have gained a master's degree focusing on business, management or economics with top academic results. Besides two to three years of experience in an international corporation, preferably in the fields of venture capital, business development, strategy, consulting or as an executive assistant, you will ideally offer the following:
• Profound analytical skills
• Advanced strategic and conceptual capabilities
• Experience in the fields of venture capital, education businesses or digital business models
• International work experience, ideally in China, India or Brazil
• Strong communicator and team player with high motivation and commitment
• Personal maturity and intercultural skills
• Excellent written and spoken English and German, additional languages a plus
