Under direction of VP, Marketing & Publicity for Young Readers, Marketing Director will strategically develop and implement innovative, comprehensive marketing campaigns across all platforms for HMH children’s and young adult titles; responsibilities include digital and traditional advertising efforts; analyzing metrics and results; overseeing all retail sales initiatives; bookseller outreach and events; developing strategic partnerships. Works closely with marketing and publicity, sales, and editorial departments to create and execute plans designed to achieve revenue goals and nurture author relationships. Provides information to sales force regarding product features and competitive analyses. Serves as liaison with national and field sales reps, with outreach to key accounts. Oversees marketing associate, and directs preparation of sales tools and sales support materials, including catalogs, sell sheets, TI sheets. Prepares for and participates in weekly and seasonal planning and update meetings, trade conferences and conventions.
A minimum of five years in publishing, with strong marketing background. Strong managerial, communication, organizational and writing skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tool files.
