Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the advertising sales function for a team of linear and digital account executives representing the NBC News brands.
Client Relationships
Develop new and maintain existing agency and client relationships for assigned list of accounts
Own the annual collective sales target for account executives on your team
Represent the entire NBCU Television and Digital Portfolio in relationships and deals
Negotiation
Advise AEs in negotiation of deals
Get involved in negotiation internally and externally as necessary
Execute sales strategy across all NBC News platforms to maximize revenue
Make Deal decisions on assigned brands that align with the business needs
Leadership
Work with account executives, marketing, and pricing & planning teams to develop integrated packages and programs for RFPs and proactive client pitches
Prioritize business needs for the AE team
Communication
Share all essential information with AE team such as property/channel news, upfront process, budgeting process, reporting, etc.
Discuss challenges, prioritizes and wins with senior management with regular reporting
Be aware and communicate current marketplace and competitive conditions
Represent NBCU News Group ad sales for agency/client list thereby effectively managing these relationships
Collaborate internally with other vertical sales groups that share the same agencies/accounts
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred. Extensive, directly related experience and self-study may be considered in lieu of degrees.
10 + years sales/ sale management experience required
Established network of contacts and relationships within the ad sales business community.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent executive-level presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Prior management/team leadership experience
