As a member of the Data & Tools team you will collaborate with internal and external business partners, other product managers, and engineers to maintain, improve, optimize, and extend Yahoo’s Global Payment Platform, which supports credit card and other transactions, on multiple Yahoo products, for both consumers and advertisers, in more than a dozen countries around the world.
As a product manager, you will join a revenue-critical team to develop and support Yahoo’s transaction and payment processing capabilities. A primary focus for this position is leading the team through the annual PCI compliance audit process to achieve certification. This position will collaborate closely with business, engineering, and product teams to deliver solutions.
A Lot About You
Responsibilities:
• Work with engineering, paranoids, Trustwave (external vendor) and other internal and external stakeholders to define the PCI audit process, comply with all relevant PCI requirements, and achieve certification.
• Work with key stakeholders to define, design, implement, and optimize payment strategies and solutions for Yahoo properties
• Document and maintain a roadmap and prioritized product backlog; manage changing requirements under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Pull and analyze data to drive decisions based on data, not assumptions
• Analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and design solutions to challenging payment use cases
• Exercise initiative and ownership while functioning as a product owner on a scrum team
• Champion the needs of both internal and external users while balancing resources and net value to Yahoo; combine strong user advocacy with impeccable business judgment
• Set KPIs and goals that align to and advance Yahoo’s goals and objectives
• Plan and meet various project milestones; communicate issues and solutions effectively; consistently provide deliverables on schedule and on budget (both resources and costs)
• Understand larger payment ecosystem including technology, strategy, and industry trends; continually realign Yahoo Payments strategy and tactics to reflect quickly evolving payments industry
• Manage several P0 revenue-critical projects in parallel
Minimum Job Qualifications:
• Approximately 2 years of product management or equivalent experience with sustained history of delivering products that meet or exceed goals, on budget and on schedule
• Hands-on experience in the Payments domain is highly desirable, including knowledge of transaction processing, major industry structures and alignment, fraud and risk management, alternate payment methods, tokenization, etc.
• Exceptional ability to be both highly strategic and tactical
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills; able to quickly craft impactful and persuasive, data-driven presentations
• Adept at communicating with a wide range of technical, non-technical, and executive functions including both internal and external stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with a strong bias toward using data to drive business decisions
• Power user of Powerpoint and Excel; SQL skills are nice to have
• Skilled multitasker, comfortable continually driving several high-priority projects to completion in parallel
• Proven ability to set priorities and triage tasks competing for resources
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to gain trust and authority at all levels of the organization
• Very motivated to improve both cost and resource efficiency of business processes; history of using “test and learn” iterative improvements to drive ongoing performance gains
• Must be a team player adept at working in cross-functional groups; willing to personally step in and resolve customer problems if needed
• Experience working on an Agile or Scrum team
• Bachelors in computer science, engineering or related technical field, or equivalent product management experience, is required; top-tier MBA is a strong plus
