A Lot About You
You are an experienced and passionate operations-focused analyst who will help the Yahoo E-Crime Investigations Team ensure that our users are protected from harm across our properties. You will conduct daily operations tasks to lead the charge against scammers, phishers, and hijackers who want to defraud our uses, as well as provide technical analytic support to our longer-term investigations. You will help protect users at Yahoo scale and will make the Internet a safer place for everyone.
Your Day
• Engage with Yahoo product, Customer Care, Legal, and security teams.
• Review abuse reports and investigate activity that violates Yahoo’s Terms of Service.
• Conduct open-source and internal data analysis to spot fraud trends.
• Process large sets of data and apply analytic techniques.
• Liaise with industry partners and security researchers.
You Must Have
• Experience responding to and investigating the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) of Internet abuse, including spam, scams, phishing, and account hijacking.
• Experience conducting investigations using open source tools such as DomainTools.
• Experience with Unix shell tools and/or database technologies such as MySQL.
• Experience supporting investigators in their case investigations.
• Comfort with ambiguity, and a self-starter capable of interfacing with engineering, policy, legal, and product teams.
• Excellent written communication skills and the proven ability to understand and present complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
