Responsibilities
The Director, TV Distribution Financial Systems is responsible for Information Technology strategy, program delivery, and operational support for the financial systems of NBCUniversal’s Global TV Distribution business. The Director will be the primary point of contact for all information technology needs for the Global Television Distribution’s Finance business, including current and future system support.
This position oversees the global accounting and finance system for Television (TV) Distribution. TV Distribution is the content distributor for NBCUniversal's family of TV & Film products across various platforms such as free network and cable television, airline television, premium pay television, and new media digital "television" i.e. Hulu/Netflix.
This position will report directly to the VP, Global Television Distribution Technology and be based in Universal City, CA. However, as the leader of a team that provides solutions to global business groups, periodic travel to New York, London and Amsterdam is required.
Job Duties
Own business engagement for IT services and manage relationships with business leaders across all levels in the TV Distribution business
Serve as primary engagement point
Partner with VP to drive yearly technology planning and provide regular updates to business leadership on operational issues, service levels, and project status
Drive strategy, evaluate and execute technology initiatives to support business growth and transformation, including oversight of mission critical business applications supporting financial systems directly responsible for TV Distribution revenue
Develop ongoing IT infrastructure and application strategy in alignment with business goals and objectives, including evaluation of legacy platforms to determine future application roadmap
Manage relationships with IT shared services leaders when needed; manage delivery of infrastructure services, and represent TV Distribution
Manage a team of full time employees and contractors
Partner closely with all Television Distribution technology teams to leverage cross department knowledge
Develop strong partnerships with the many vendors and service providers in order to best utilize their solutions and/or resources for the benefit of the company
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Requires a B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Business Administration or other relevant field, or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of proven technology management experience with a strong background in software development, application management, or IT Operations
Minimum 10+ years program/project management experience in managing and delivering major technology initiatives (preferred experience managing $25M+ threshold)
Deep knowledge of financial aspects of accounting and revenue recognition business process flows
Ability to travel to both domestic and international locations
