We are looking for a Chapter Lead to join our growing Web Engineering team in the Platform and Partner Experience Tribe. This team uses web technologies to build the user facing elements for a broad section of Spotify’s clients, including TV, Web Player, Desktop, Car and Playstation.
You will manage a team of engineers as part of a larger Web Engineering team. Your primary responsibility is to the people in your team: you are expected to challenge and grow experienced engineers, support new members of the team, and to ensure all team members have the skills and support to they need to succeed and have a great time at Spotify.
You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to help improve how we work as an organisation across the client experience development and partner integration work we do at Spotify.
What you’ll do
• Develop people and teams through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
• Work with the recruiting team to attract, onboard and retain diverse top talent
• Work closely with squads, product owners, agile coaches and other stakeholders to ensure we deliver world-class features & capabilities for our consumers
• Advocate and advance modern software development practices in teams (CI/CD, test automation etc)
• Grow the technical expertise of your teams in web technologies, performance, scalability, maintainable architecture and experimentation
• Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organisational practices across all of Spotify
• Collaborate with others managers in leading the Tribe
Who you are
• You are experienced in leading, coaching and mentoring software development teams and delivering working software together with them
• You care about developing and growing people
• You are knowledgeable and passionate about software engineering practices, primarily focussed on web technologies
• You have a solid experience of working in an agile development environment
