Responsibilities
The Position
Beginning January 1, 2017, NBCUniversal will be the exclusive U.S. seller for advertising inventory on the Apple News app and will work with Apple to develop new advertising products so marketers and publishers can better take advantage of the platform.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Product Development professional who wants to be part of a fast paced and dynamic business working on digital products for the partnership with Apple News. The Head of Product will be responsible for developing strategic product priorities and managing relationships with brand clients and technical functions to deliver products appropriate to the specific brand and consumer needs. This role will play a critical role in the ultimate success of NBCU digital businesses, and will require: (1) deep expertise in creating compelling product visions that maximize revenue potential of individual products and product lines, (2) translating consumer needs and business objectives into intuitive and compelling products used by millions of users around the world, and (3) conducting market research and evaluating new product requirements to identify enhancements to existing product features, functionality and profitability.
The Person
As the leader of the Product Development and Innovation team, you will be responsible for bridging technical and editorial worlds as you design products and supporting technologies with our technical development and design teams. You will build from existing ideas evolving technologies and products to meet consumption demands, and help to develop new ideas based on your experience and market research. You must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. This role has a strong balance of both strategic elements and strong tactical implementation skills and perseverance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the strategy, design and implementation of the product roadmaps to meet brand / editorial / consumer / technical demands
• Provide strategic direction and market input around the planning and design of new products, services/applications for NBC News digital products.
• Lead product initiatives to achieve audience growth and revenue goals and partner with Ad Sales teams to develop custom solutions for advertisers, to garner larger audiences
• Develop processes for launching new digital products in International markets. In addition, take best in class product initiatives from the local markets and evaluate international opportunities.
• Conduct analyses of market opportunities and competitive products. Maintain awareness of trends and advancements in the digital consumer space. Identify market opportunities and define product strategy to reflect those, using assumptions driven by data.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of product management experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Demonstrated ability to drive product management, product planning and marketing through launch.
• Strong focus on user experience and has broad exposure to a variety of user experience disciplines, including interaction design, usability engineering, research/analytics, and visual design.
• Excellent project management skills. Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple projects/priorities at once, establish timelines/milestones to achieve objectives, co-ordinate teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related industry; MBA a plus.
