Position Summary
The Director, Group Sales & Marketing role is responsible for generating new and incremental revenue across Tribune Broadcasting platforms & markets. Working with advertisers directly, this role utilizes Tribune Media’s assets in Television, Radio, Digital and Cable to build solutions and programs that generate results and excitement.
Responsibilities:
• Drive new and incremental revenue through development of unique media solutions that utilize multiple Tribune markets and platforms.
• Interact daily with clients and potential clients - Chief Marketing Officers and Brand Managers - in building out marketing solutions that drive results.
• Interact daily with internal support systems, from ideation and creation of the program and any associated decks, consumer insights, activation elements….to execution and delivery of the campaign created.
• Maintain an active weekly pipeline of 8-10 potential clients as measured by submissions and client requests.
• Establish, grow and maintain deep rooted relationships with clients and their vendors.
• Provide thorough weekly revenue forecasts and other CRM data points to VP.
• Build and maintain a positive sales reputation within our industry, one based on service, integrity and growth.
• Utilize our established 3rd party partnerships when needed to assist in achievement of client packages and revenue goals.
• Work with production to ensure creative process and execution is seamless and smooth for all parties involved.
• Effectively communicate with all stakeholders, from clients to Tribune local and corporate leadership.
• Be an active and proud participant of this elite sales force.
Qualifications:
• Experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns across media multi–platforms & multi-markets.
• Minimum 7 years of sales success in broadcast media, a focus on client direct advertising relationships and marketing programs a plus.
• Proficient in media math, understanding minimum reach/frequency thresholds on various media platforms for results.
• Effective communicator; written, oral and presentation.
• Appropriately persistent with clients and stakeholders, excellent follow through track record.
• Travel on a regular basis for work.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
