A Front End Engineer to deliver the build of festival websites for the UK’s leading festival promoter, Festival Republic.
This role will work closely with the digital coordinator, web editor and the digital designer to transform ideas and designs into exciting interactive experiences across our growing portfolio of festivals
The Festival Republic sites are based on a large scale Drupal platform that has evolved considerably in the past few years to cater for a wide variety of events and content management needs. You’ll work predominantly with our existing Drupal themes but not exclusively as there will be opportunities to create standalone projects to support individual marketing campaigns which can be done in your choice of technologies and should push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web.
In addition, we are constantly striving to push the Drupal platform front end stack forward and take advantage of the latest technologies and you’ll be expected to take an active role in deciding the future direction of the platform.
The successful candidate will be required to work on site at all of the UK festivals and events which usually span weekends. European events have their own marketing teams on the ground but often require content ideas and suggestions.
Technologies, platforms and principles we use:
• Git, hosted on Bitbucket and a Gitflow workflow.
• Linux based web platforms.
• Sites built with Drupal utilising Aegir platforms, install profiles, drush make, features and migrate.
• We try to keep our front end stack as independent from Drupal as possible. Our latest theme uses node.js/Gulp/Bower/LibSass/Bourbon and we currently maintain an older Ruby based stack.
• We currently employ a combination of North CSS syntax and Atom design principles to create a CSS framework that underpins all of our festival sites and promotes DRY coding principles.
• We aim to follow an Agile framework however on occasion projects have to happen without discovery sessions and meetings
Festival Republic is part of Live Nation Entertainment which is the world’s leading live entertainment company comprised of global market leaders: Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, LN Media and Artist Nation Management.
