The Content Localization Trailer Specialist will be responsible for ensuring Netflix customers across the globe receive the highest-quality experience from our subtitles and audio dubs on all of our promotional assets. The ideal candidate will have a great passion for language, a deep appreciation of regional cultural differences, and will thrive in a fast paced highly iterative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee multiple large-scale dubbing and subtitling projects across a wide range of vendors and translators for all Netflix promotional content
• Collaborate upstream with marketing partners to create bulletproof plans for trailer localization
• Provide innovative thinking around scalable solutions and operational workflows for language asset creation and management, constantly questioning existing systems and looking for a better way
• Build and maintain relationships with localization vendors; analyze vendor delivery metrics to monitor capacity, identify trends, diagnose issues and reinforce quality standards
• Effectively communicate project updates cross-functionally
• Make sound independent decisions, and know when to escalate issues
• Advocate, understand, communicate, and exemplify the company's values
Requirements:
• Prior experience in managing trailer localization workflows in the entertainment industry; background in subtitle creation and translation and a passion for languages and translation quality
• Extensive experience with marketing and promotional assets and an understanding of the workflow and timelines associated with promoting content
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus
• Deep understanding of differences, subtleties, and nuances between subtitle and dub translation. Working knowledge around territorial differences and best practices for subtitle and dub audio creation and expectations
• Have a full understanding of closed captioning, subtitling and their common failures or technical challenges; some knowledge of new technologies that could help change current “standard” methodologies
• Highly analytical and able to get to the root cause of a problem; able to creatively figure out a solution or propose changes to existing workflows as required
• Adaptability and resiliency to quick changes in priorities, technology, tools and workflow; able to pivot without missing a beat
• Attention to detail; organization, problem-solving, analytical and multitasking skills
