Position Summary:
Financial role within Discovery Networks International (DNI). Reporting to the Sr. Manager of DNI Finance, theAnalyst will help support the core FP&A processes for the division. The Analyst is responsible for assisting in consolidating all DNI forecasting, budgeting and reporting across EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific (regions). Additionally, the position will focus on working with Regions, Functions, Business Operations and other groups to develop forecasting and reporting tools to improve decision making, business planning and cost management. This individual will be responsible for supporting the reporting, budgeting and analytical functions for DNI.
Reporting Line:
The Analyst reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Finance for DNI but also liaises with FP&A across all regions and incorporates guidance from the regional CFO’s and DNI Corporate Finance.
Responsibilities:
1. Consolidation and FP&A
• Assist in consolidation of annual budget and monthly reforecast process
• Support accounting month-end close process with a focus on London based corporate services
• Maintain cross-departmental monthly review and forecast process; development and maintenance of departmental forecasting and reporting tools
• Assist in preparing ad hoc analysis and financial models for DNI financial leadership and other key stakeholders
• Assist in SOX control compliance and analytical frameworks
• Ad hoc support of business analysis and analytical projects
2. Financial Reporting
• Work with regions, financial teams and operations throughout the organization to develop tools to improve reporting and analytics
• Publish, maintain and develop a suite of consolidation and regional reports to all levels of management and operational teams
• Work with Sr. Manager to continuously improve forecasting and reporting capabilities - Development and implementation of forecast process improvements including redesigned reports and/or submission templates
• Support reporting requirements to various internal stakeholders such as Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, Corporate Accounting, Communications and Regional finance leads
3. System Responsibilities:
• Support various system projects associated with new business developments
• Work with various functions throughout the organization to develop tools to improve reporting and data consolidation that supports company-wide initiatives
• Participate in global process improvement initiatives, implementation of a long term data solutions, enhanced report design, automation, review and implementation of industry best practices
• Perform other reporting/system projects or duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Professional Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent), and 2 years pqe
• Degree in a related discipline
• International finance experience preferred
• Media experience preferred
• Experience in transactional environment
• Possess superior communication and customer service skills
• Strong work ethic with high integrity
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and wider international team
