Content Strategist at Storyful

The Job:
Storyful combines proprietary technology and expert journalism into a human algorithm. This
game-changing combination gives us the ability to discover, verify, acquire and deliver the most
valuable real-time content the social web has to offer. This world-renowned expertise is valuable to
more than those in the the newsroom, however. The biggest agencies and brands across the globe
now look to Storyful to provide authentic, user-generated content and market-moving intelligence on a
daily basis to inform marketing strategies and future business decisions.
You, as a content strategist at Storyful, will be charged with creating innovative content solutions and
offerings to new and existing commercial Storyful clients.
We’ve helped brands create work ranging from finding the perfect UGC video for a brand’s FB post to
licensing a range of videos for an agency to create the perfect promotional spot or holiday greeting .
You:
The ideal candidate will be a fast thinker; creative and innovative, with experience in interacting with
brands and agencies or satisfying demanding clients’ needs. A background in news or social media is
desirable but not essential. You understand how to mine the social Internet to research market trends,
find key conversations and discover compelling content, as well as how to filter and present that work
in a passionate way to consumers and brands.
This is a role that demands the combination of a flexible attitude and eye for storytelling. Not only will
you possess the ability to work on multiple projects at varying levels of complexity, but you will be able
to collaborate across teams and coordinate efforts across editorial, sales, and product staff to
accomplish goals on deadline. Content is your home; you’re a digital native, fully at home and engaged
in existing and emerging digital platforms.
What You’ll Do:
● Develop advanced searches and creative approaches to discover content of high value for
delivery to brands and agencies. Track, identify and present content for brands on an ongoing
basis.
● Conduct research based on requests from clients or internal sales and business development
teams and deliver briefs on discoveries in a timely, clear manner.
● Work on the the RFP (request for proposal) process from a creative standpoint, from
participating in brainstorms to writing response copy, working on decks and PDFs, and
executing the final response sent to the client.
● Work with sales, product and editorial teams on special projects.
● Complete pitches and presentations for new business opportunities.
● Coordinate and run live events such as media walls and live blogs.
● Work with Product team on technical integration of special projects into Storyful tools and
presentations.
● Write and edit concise and accurate copy to publish both internally and on public platforms.
What You Need:
● Ideally background with brands, agencies, marketing, advertising or custom content/native
advertising.
● Well-versed in social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest,
Vine, YouTube, Instagram, SnapChat and other emerging platforms.
● Knowledge of social media best practices across different platforms.
● Experience working on conferences, live events, or live blogging/tweeting for a company, client
or publisher.
● Ability to find, source and verify original content from across the social web. Ability to think
outside the box to find the needle in the haystack of user-generated content that answers
client’s needs.
● Ability to lead projects and manage weekly and daily deliverables to clients.
● A fluid, natural communicator who has experience writing and copyediting for online
publications, brands and agencies, and social platforms.
● Skills in foreign languages a plus but not required.
