A Little About Us:
The Event Marketing team collaborates with both marketing and sales stakeholders to identify brand-building events and sponsorships, as well as networking, educational and entertainment opportunities to help our sales teams build a deeper relationship with clients. We are looking for an experienced events manager to develop and bring impactful ideas to life.
A Lot About You:
The Industry Event Manager will provide a strategic partnership with Sales and B2B Marketing focused on the overarching strategy and messaging of our Industry and B2B events. This position will work cross-functionally to develop innovative and strategic ideas that map to stated goals and objectives. The ideal candidate must be an event marketing professional with strong hands-on experience planning and executing industry specific events and programs.
Your Day:
• Build and drive event marketing plans that map to company priorities, showcasing new technology & product innovations, that ultimately drive revenue for Yahoo. Example events include CES, Mobile World Congress, Cannes, DMEXCO and AdWeek
• Work cross-functionally with sales, product marketing, creative and B2B marketing teams to develop compelling event content
• Create and manage event project plans and communication with cross-functional teams.
• Handle overall event milestones and deliverables, creative briefs, logistics and production timelines to meet deadlines.
• Work closely with internal business teams to establish, meet and measure the marketing and business objectives
• Manage overall event production, logistics vendors and budgets
• Produce special projects and initiatives that are critical to executive leadership.
• 25% Travel
You Must Have:
• 5+ years experience in marketing, PR or strategic events, ideally in digital media or technology
• Hands on experience producing a multifaceted presence at major industry events such as CES, Cannes, SXSW, Mobile World Congress, AdWeek or others
• Excellent project management skills, including proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with focused attention to detail.
• Demonstrated success adding to the strategic direction of event programs.
• Ability to work with vendors to bring creative event ideas to life while maintaining control of budget
• Unparalleled interpersonal skills with an ability to lead and influence at all levels of an organization, and in particular cross-functionally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a significant workload and adhere to tight deadlines
• Self-directed, amiable, and composed under pressure
• Ability to excel in a high profile, fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and passionate about achieving results
• Experience mentoring junior team members
• BA/BS degree required; preferably in Marketing or Communications
