Position Summary:
The Technical Lead -- Architecture and API is responsible for the backend of new Sirius XM Applications from a technical perspective. This includes defining the detailed technical architecture, working closely with the Product team, working closely with other development groups within a larger team (including front-end applications, content tools, analytics and machine learning), analyzing requirements, and positioning them with the development. This individual should be well aware of the ongoing evolution of the mobile platforms, data and machine learning, and also be aware of the overall technology evolution in the connected devices sector.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define and own the detailed technical architecture for the backend off specific Sirius XM applications, touching content ingest/in-house tooling to front-end applications.
• Define the call flows and the interfaces between the mobile clients, the back end service layer, and third parties.
• Facilitate the troubleshooting of pre and post-production issues working closely with the development team.
• Own the Software development coding standards, code review, and all documentation.
• Contribute to the Agile development process by helping product owners prioritize and author developer stories.
• Ensure collaboration with Sr. Management to help generate task breakdowns, and accurate schedules.
• Interface with QA regarding release schedules, training, testing schedule assistance and review test cases.
• Ensure full coverage of tier 3 support for operations readiness.
• Keep fully aware of the mobile platform and audio industry evolution and new technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technically related field.
• 7+ years experience designing and developing applications.
• 3+ years experience designing and developing mobile applications.

Technical Skills:
• 2+ years of hands-on experiencing implementing applications using the Android and/or iOS platform.
• Working knowledge of media streaming technologies such as HLS.
• 5+ years of working experience in Python and Java.
• Good understanding of HTML5.
• Demonstrable skills in designing/deploying a scalable environment using 3rd party cloud sevices (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc).
• Strong comprehension of Agile/Scrum methodologies, Software Development Life Cycle and Configuration Management.
• Strong comprehension of web services and service oriented architecture.
• Strong comprehension of high availability, multi-tier, mission critical system design.
