DESCRIPTION:
SHOWTIME is looking for a Vice President, Corporate Communications who will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of media relations, and internal and external communications. Strong writing skills are a must.
Responsibilities will include:
• Drafting speeches, press releases, presentations, talking points for senior management, executive bios, employee memos and other internal communications.
• Copy-editing all internal and external materials.
• Help disseminate the network's programming and scheduling announcements, subscriber, ratings and research data to the national media and provide frontline support for media-related inquiries and crisis management.
• Help prep executives, producers and talent for media inquiries.
• Coordinate and prioritize timing with the network’s publicists and executives for all press releases across all divisions, notifying the appropriate parties if there is a scheduling conflict.
• Provide weekly copy to CBS' company internal newsletter.
• Work closely with the SVP of Corporate PR and CBS Corporate Communications on CBS Earnings materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must have at least 10+ years of professional writing and/or public relations experience, preferably in a corporate communications or a newsroom setting. We are looking for a strategic, resourceful and tested communications professional who is detail-oriented, deadline-sensitive with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and web-based systems, and ability to multi-task. Familiarity with media and television is also a plus.
