Position Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Corporate Communications, responsible for contributing to Public Relations initiatives related to SiriusXM programming, such as sports and talk, as well as SiriusXM's corporate activities, including automotive and connected vehicle services, consumer product and streaming services, Infotainment, financial, and partnership announcements. This position would also routinely helps in planning and staging significant programming P.R. events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Under the guidance of VP Corporate Communications, be involved in the creation, strategy, and execution of P.R. activities to support a range of SiriusXM programming, particularly in sports and talk.
• Work closely with OEM, Connected Vehicle, Streaming Products and Services, Pre-Owned Programs, Consumer Electronics and Retail, Connected Vehicle Services, Infotainment, Investor Relations, and other teams to create materials, help plan strategies, and conduct media outreach for Public Relations initiatives for these areas.
• Research and prepare materials, including press releases and other promotional copy, photos and videos that highlight SiriusXM's programming, OEM and CV activities.
• Write effective and practical communications.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key members of national print, broadcast and online media to promote SiriusXM's programming, satellite and streaming products and CV programs and other services.
• Secure coverage for SiriusXM through print, broadcast, and Internet media.
• Manage and collaborate with various departments within company to develop promotional campaigns for external audiences, and help with media events and trade show announcements from the SiriusXM studios in New York as well as trade shows across the country.
• Works in close coordination with SiriusXM's social media and web teams, branding, and interactive to help in the promotion of SiriusXM product and service assets online and on social media.
• Review and edit for accuracy of SiriusXM press releases, including quarterly filings, before they are released.
• Monitor accuracy of corporate information provided on siriusxm.com and edit as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 1+ year(s) of experience in public relations and / or communications; Experience with sports media, tech media and prior Public Relations agency background is a huge plus.
• Strong industry and P.R. contacts
Requirements and General Skills:
• Proven experience in talking to and pitching stories to online, print and TV media.
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills; superior writing ability
• Strong research skills and ability to translate research into effective and practical communications
• Spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills; meticulous attention to detail in this regard
• Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast paced work environment
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and social media networks.
