Position Overview:
We are seeking a proven marketer and dynamic leader to join the Global Product Marketing team. The Director of Product Marketing will leverage market and customer insights to inform global product strategy, define products through positioning and messaging, create compelling brand assets and shape strong campaigns and effective selling. The Director of Product Marketing will lead a talented team that launches great products and digital initiatives for the Science Higher Education markets.
Position Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with marketing and product management counterparts on global, cross-disciplinary initiatives that support the broader team and portfolio growth.
• Recruit, develop and lead top Product Marketing talent; provide stretch goals, invest in skill development, create a culture of accountability and an environment of inspiration and motivation.
Oversee and contribute to the following team goals:
• Understand the market, the customer, and the competition and serve as customer voice to product and portfolio management to fuel innovation and position product offerings.
• Define product audience and develop personas for key technology launches.
• Translate market insights and product attributes into compelling value propositions, go-to-market messages.
• Develop insights-based marketing content (web content, collateral, videos, customer ng testimonials, white papers, etc.) for use in global and local campaigns.
• Establish the development and the execution of marketing plans for Product Portfolios (launches, campaigns, initiatives and budgets), in coordination with the local marketing teams.
• Preserve brand fidelity and deliver a consistent approach to branding and customer experience across all product categories, in all geographies.
• Provide training and support to country-based marketing teams for new launches, product enhancements, and guidance in the translation of global product campaigns to the local market.
• Ensure team achieves key KPI’s including: contribution by product, market share, return on investment, efficacy, learner satisfaction and outcomes, brand awareness and familiarity and operating budget.
Essential Education, Experience and Skills
• Undergraduate degree required.
• At least 5 years of relevant marketing experience, with emphasis on developing and/or promoting digital solutions. Experience within higher education is a plus.
• 3+ years experience in managing a team of marketers.
• Sophisticated financial acumen to manage and direct resources to the highest opportunities and measure marketing ROI.
• Proven ability to deliver outcomes while working in a cross functional/cross-geographic team environment through leadership and influencing skills.
• Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with other product and marketing leaders.
• Passion for education and making a difference for learners in our fast-paced, ever-evolving industry.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively for diverse audiences.
• Critical thinker and problem solver who is motivated to seek data to inform his or her work.
• Excellent data analysis skills.
• National travel required.
• Preferred candidate would work out of the San Francisco, CA, Hoboken, NJ or Boston, MA office, although it is not a requirement.
