Summary
The release and build specialist will develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate the version creation process on an ongoing basis as well as administer material and software resources.
Responsibilities
The main and routine tasks of the release and build specialist are to:
Managing and extending our autobuild system:
• Extending BuildBot system features (better build break reporting, integration with other tools, etc.
• Support of DemoPC deployment script
• Checking in the morning that a build was completed and that QA has a working build
• Follow up with the person responsible if the build breaks
• Manage build machine(s)
Perforce management
• User management (adding new users, resetting passwords, etc.)
• Supporting/upgrading Unity P4Connect plugin
• Unlocking files in Perforce when people have left
• Perforce support for artists
• Implementing a better SubmitAssistant which automatically verifies changelists are free of known issues before submitting in P4
Release build management
• Identifying which build should be used for playtests
• Manage past versions of the game
• Manage different platform builds (Vive vs Rift, languages / regions)
• Watermark builds
• Work with QC to prepare machines/hardware for internal and external demos. Ensure we have the right hardware and software, technical support
• Prepare USB keys for external demos (encryption, cleaning, additional software)
• Help with technical requirements of platform builds (eg. PS4 and Steam packaging and uploading)
Unity cache server support
NAS management
College diploma in computer science or equivalent training.
Relevant Experience
Minimum one year’s experience in a similar position;
Participation in a complete game production (familiarity with the production cycle) an asset.
