Overview and Responsibilities
• Operates as a Subject Matter Expert for Consumer Products (CP) financial and contract management processes, solutions, and operations related to current business platforms
• Support the Director in managing the administrative activities (e.g. Sales system to GL interface, SOX compliance, contract, forecast, security and royalty administration, trouble ticket management, etc.) related to current CP systems and processes
• Assist Director of Global CP Business Operations in evaluating ongoing business needs/requirements for CP finance, legal and global sales functions to support Viacom’s best-in-class OTC, financial and legal systems platform
• Partners with internal team members, cross-functional teams, supervises 1 department intern in order to analyze and resolve issues related to financial and contract management processes for current CP business platforms
Basic Qualifications
• Analyze and resolve ongoing issues related to current CP contract, royalty and risk management process and systems (i.e., Contract Management System [License Maestro], Licensee/Agent Portal (Deal Entry, Royalties, Forecasting), SAP GL Interface.
• Support Director as additional CP Global Operations liaison to the Finance, Financial Shared Services Order-to-Cash [OTC] Team, Legal, Media Technology Solutions (MTS) and Accounting groups on issues that may impact current royalty and contract management processes and systems
• Responsible for quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) reconciliations, weekly upload of financials from CP sales to the Viacom General Ledger (in partnership with OTC & MTS teams), and daily trouble ticket resolution/monthly trouble ticket reporting
• In conjunction with MTS, evaluate and test new releases of License Maestro contract and royalty management system
• Assist Director in developing design specification documents, and develop use cases/test cases for CP finance, legal, global sales, and creative functions for final phases of CP Licensee/Agent Portal (Deal Entry, Royalties, Forecasting) implementation
• Ability to work as an influencer in a matrix organization
• Detail-oriented with ability to analyze and resolve systems and process issues in short turnaround and in a collaborative manner with cross-divisional peers
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and assignments
• Team player
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interactions with peer stakeholders within the business (Sales/Line of Business [LOB]), functional (Finance & Legal), and Media Technology Services (MTS) teams
• Ability to understand and use various business software applications and solutions platforms
Additional Qualifications
• BS in Finance or Information Technology
• 3-5 years of relevant Consumer Products global licensing industry work experience
• Experience in operations management, business process analysis, finance, and accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, Consumer Products finance, and entertainment industry practices
• Ability to interpret and understand operational implications of contractual terms
• Strong MS Office suite (specifically MS Excel)
• SAP experience a plus
