DESCRIPTION:
Showtime Networks Inc., a subsidiary of CBS Corporation, is seeking a QA Analyst to assist in maintaining and improving the quality of the Showtime and Showtime Anytime applications. The QA Analyst will ensure the validity of business intelligence metrics generated by the applications and will perform tests on Showtime and Showtime Anytime products to verify that all implementations of tracking solutions are performing as intended and are providing the business with accurate and timely customer usage data.
In this position, located in Showtime’s NYC headquarters, you will have the responsibility of testing across multiple platforms to review/validate systems that have been integrated to track user behavior. As business needs fluctuate, you may also be called upon to execute regression testing and quality assurance tests against non-data-gathering functionality. An ideal candidate will possess 4+ years directly testing and/or supporting applications for web, mobile and other devices; will be extremely detail-oriented and possess the ability to think outside of the box; will be able to devise creative techniques for testing, and will have the ability to mine large data sets. The candidate must have extensive experience using Omniture reporting and familiarity with Omniture implementation, and must have working knowledge of SQL. Experience with Hive/Spark is a plus
Responsibilities
Obtain a detailed understanding of the Showtime and Showtime Anytime metrics and their relation to user behavior. Obtain a detailed understanding of Showtime’s business rules for importing data. Use queries and other methods of data analysis to validate changes to data while testing new features or functionality. Prioritize issues interfering with gathering accurate data. Write test cases and use tracking tools to file, monitor and resolve issues. As required, perform tests of new features and functionality of the Showtime and Showtime Anytime applications. Communicate clearly and frequently with all team members, stakeholders and project/product owners impacted by test and troubleshooting results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience addressing issues of data integrity; proven ability to mine and validate data
• Experience validating data feeds
• 2 years of experience with Omniture implementation and reporting
• Ability to formulate SQL queries to mine large data sets
• Experience using Charles or similar tool to monitor outgoing calls to data systems
• Excruciatingly detail-oriented with a passion for perfection. Proven ability to follow issues through to complete resolution
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Experience with Jira is a plus
