The main responsibility of this role is to ensure the IFRS compliance of the Group at any time and that the Group Accounting Policies are always up-to-date and aligned with recent developments in IFRS and in the business. Finance projects with a focus on financial reporting will be another important part of this role. You will be reporting to the EVP Financial Reporting & Accounting.
Your Responsibilities
• Assess the impact on the Group Financial Statements resulting from:
◦ New/amended IFRS standards/interpretations
◦ New/amended standards of the DRS (Accounting Standard Committee of Germany) and other organizations
◦ Changes in the business and
◦ Changes in the Group’s accounting policies
• Communicate these results and changes as needed to Senior Finance Management and to relevant stakeholders in the Group
• Assess the impact of new business models, new transactions on the Group Financial Statements and provide guidance to colleagues in order to ensure correct accounting
• Implement accounting policies, provide training as needed and guidance on how reporting packages have to be adjusted
• Responsible for the Group Accounting Policy/Manual
• Contribute to the preparation of the Group’s Financial Statements
• Participate in Central Finance projects e.g. purchase price allocations, valuations, preparation of special accounts/financial statements
Your Profile
Essential:
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience with an international Group in financial reporting/accounting or alternatively with a Big Four Audit firm
• Degree in finance, business administration or the like
• Strong practical and theoretical IFRS knowledge
• Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with both senior business management and senior finance management
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Hands-on mentality and high engagement level
• Skilled communicator and team-player
• Strong business language proficiency in English and German
Desirable:
• Theoretical knowledge in German commercial law (HGB)
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management consolidation/reporting software
