W Magazine is completely blowing up its digital strategy.
Why work at W?
W is an escape from the ordinary, a place where outsized dreams and unprecedented access inspire, surprise and delight. Unbound by convention, W is an industry leader creating groundbreaking and award-winning stories about Fashion, Film and Art.
• W is one of the most innovative and creative storytellers in the world
• Unconventional in everything we do – from our work style to our content philosophies
• We maintain a structure where the best ideas win instead of seniority
• Join the world-class organization of Conde Nast and contribute to the development of the future of the media industry
W is greatly expanding its video experience as more and more of our stories translate to the digital landscape. With this growth in the digital video space, we are looking for a creative and visionary video editor. The transition from videos that just played on YouTube and then onsite have evolved into a multitude of formats – as now seen on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, to name a few. W’s goal is to find our viewer wherever they may be in whatever manner they choose to consume. The video editor working under the Director of Video will not only work on the many projects directly in the edit, but will also develop the vision and process needed to execute on our goals. The target video output for W is to be releasing a motion film (be it on social media or on our site) daily. We strive to continually break the mold and experiment in places that often surprise ourselves. Curiosity is a must for our team as it is the fuel that drives our creative endeavors.
The responsibilities of the role are as follows:
• Daily video editing
• Overseeing the post-production of every project
• Working with outside contractors, production companies, and freelancers regularly on a project to project basis
• Develop a creative vision with the editorial team to help guide the projects
• Develop a production strategy that facilitates the flow of video from development through release for the many platforms
