DESCRIPTION:
The Developer role is a key position in the Entertainment/Sports/News Integrated Design Team at CBS Interactive. You are a pro in HTML5 ad development and the integration of animation through JS export from Canvas. You can build complex H5 ad units and maintain various templates for standard units used throughout the department. Custom ad builds may include the incorporation of API’s and cross-talking with a cached server, as well as setting up internal preview mocks for units in development. You can assist other Ad Designers with production issues while supporting the generation of specialized rich media. Knowledge of interactive ad creation utilizing HTML5 is essential.
The H5 Developer will be responsible for the brainstorming and creation of a broad variety of design and custom assignments from concept through final production. This person will work with a team of creative designers, project managers, account managers and sales staff on a daily basis. This position will be responsible for generating high quality and innovative executions within budget and deadlines, specific to each project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and create custom, interactive, Rich Media HTML5 ad units
Troubleshoot urgent issues with live ad units in a timely manner
Provide ongoing technical support to fellow Designers
A digital evangelist/enthusiast who passionately keeps up with what’s new and what is coming down the pipe
Builds strong working relationships with coworkers, customers (internal and external), and company management
QUALIFICATIONS:
4-6 years of Interactive and custom ad design experience within the interactive advertising industry
A complete understanding of DoubleClick Studio, as it relates to Desktop for Publishers (DFP), and the ability to generate test lines within DFP. QA and Trafficking certification a plus.
Advanced skills with Adobe CC 16: Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canvas, Edge
Experience coding ads for display/tablet/mobile, (both iOS/Android, browser and in app)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Professional work experience and team player
Proven problem solver
Familiarity with IAB Standards
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Fine Arts or equivalent work experience
Applicants must provide a portfolio or sample URLs that they are directly responsible for developing
Additional Skill Sets:
Previous ad agency experience
HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, JSON, XML
Knowledge of Video/Audio production in regards to editing and creation/usage
Experience with parsing Web API’s and their integration with ad served creative
Occasional need for micro site creation and refresh
Must successfully pass a background check
