On Being a Team Lead GO2 (Auto) at Ubi Montreal:
As Team Lead, you are considered the reference for your team members. You actively participate to your team’s success by overseeing work quality as well as closely following up on projects and deadlines that you are given. You are responsible for a squad of passionate professionals of which you validate the work in consideration to the deliverables requested. You are as present for your team as you are present for the Project Lead or Production Manager. You’re sometimes directly part of the development of the game because we know you can’t help yourself.

The Daily life of a Team Lead at Ubi Montreal:
• Create, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks and the advancement of the team’s work with regards to deliverables;
• Represent the team before other contributors;
• Support each team member in their daily work;
• Organize and lead team meetings;
• Know the game’s story and gameplay (game design documents) and understand the technical/artistic constraints so as to be able to lead/coach the team;
• Draft regular reports for the Project lead or Production manager regarding the advancement of the team’s work and collaborate to meet objectives;
• Show creativity and initiative in problem identification, prevention and solving;
• Be a mentor in terms of technical/artistic aspects for team members (where necessary);
• Take part in performance assessments in collaboration with the Project lead (CP)/ Production Manager (PM);
• Coordinate bug correction as it pertains to the team’s work;
• Ensure that new employees integrate the team;
• Help recruit new team members;
• Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
What it takes to make it:
• A Bachelor degree in computer engineering or computer science or other equivalent certifications (having a certification in project management is even better!);
• 2 to 4 years’ experience as Team Lead or other relevant experience;
• A great ability for teamwork;
• A positive Leadership;
• The ability to adjust not only to different situations but also to different humans;
• Knowing how to delegate, prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently;
• Technical Knowledge in game development;
• Not being afraid to step-up as leader;
• Initiative and creativity;
• Resourcefulness in problem-solving;
• Bilingualism;
• Knowledge of the tools used by team members;
• Project management knowledge (asset);
• Knowledge of the other game production working units (asset);
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite (asset).
