We have an opening for an experienced, innovative, strategic Pricing Strategy Analyst in our Burr Ridge, IL office. Does this sound like you?
The Pricing Strategy Analyst supports development of McGraw-Hill Higher Education’s pricing and packaging strategy. As part of this role, it is expected an incumbent will be executing various complex analytics and pricing assignments that support a wide range of business initiatives. This role will support the development of integrated pricing and market strategies utilizing competitive intelligence, market research data and advanced quantitative methods and in collaboration with key leadership stakeholders from across business.
Critical Functions:
• Support pricing optimization across McGraw-Hill Higher Education product categories (print and digital). Drive analysis outcomes that support the execution overall pricing strategy, in collaboration with senior leadership. Measure effectiveness of current programs, determine pricing for future business models and create and test new strategies. Support semi-annual price review process, including establishment of default pricing assumptions, as well as audit and approve finalized product pricing.
• Support management and integration strategy related to discount / special contract pricing. Develop discount guardrails and protocols around sound custom pricing. Design/refine discount calculation tools and models to empower sales team and guide margin-based pricing decisions. Approve exception pricing contracts (e.g., custom proposals above discount thresholds).
• Support price coordination for large partnerships. Develop models for channel and distributor pricing that focus on both revenue and profitability. Set general pricing guidelines for all large adoption bids or enterprise deals. Approve exception pricing.
• Effectively presents and makes persuasive arguments to convince key clients to take action, and negotiates effective solutions between key individuals.
• Develops approaches and manages work to ensure the highest quality results for customers.
• Effective in supporting and leading the strategy through quality of work outputs and ability to partner with customer throughout organization.
• Drives organizational efficiency.
• Support a culture of data-driven decision making, via the increased commitment to and utilization of data.
Requirements
A successful candidate will have:
• Undergraduate degree in business, economics or other quantitative based discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Three plus years of pricing experience with demonstrated success in supporting business projects and system implementations.
• Outstanding cross-functional leadership; ability to influence across groups with strong communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to condense complex information into easily digestible and actionable for stakeholders.
• Demonstrates high level of personal credibility; ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with all levels within an organization.
• Demonstrated use of advanced statistical method and high level knowledge of analytics to lead execution and mentorship with others in the organization.
• Must have strong competency in MS Office products, especially Excel and Access.
• Ability to travel occasionally required (10-20%).
A successful candidate may have:
• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Additional applicable certificate / certification programs.
• Experience with SQL and statistical programming language (R, Python).
