The Director of Global Market Development is responsible for growing the Pearson VUE Computer Based Testing business outside its currently established regional markets with particular focus on entering the Latin American market. The Director will formulate, execute and manage a strategy to enter the LATEM market. The executive will also be responsible for the PTE-Pro programme (English Professional Exam) and will focus on developing this business globally working with the VUE regional VPs, technical teams and across Pearson to make PTE-Pro a truly global product.
Working closely with the SVP Global Business the Director will formulate and execute a go-to-market strategy for business VUE to enter the Latin America CTB market. The Director will also work with regional VP’s, functional leaders,programme management, the business development staff, and across Pearson to grow the PTE-Pro business globally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
10% Staff Supervision
Supervision of PTE-Pro staff
Work with HR to execute performance and talent reviews on a regular basis
As business grows and new hires are made, work with HR to recruit appropriate personnel
55% LATEM Strategy
Develop & implement a LATEM market entry strategy
Identify new business opportunities within LATEM
Establish relationships with key decision makers at the CXO level and other
appropriate Executive level positions in LATEM
Work closely with the strategy, marketing, technology pre-sales and post
contract implementation team
Negotiate contracts with new customers/partners
Identify any potential M&A targets with LATEM Executive level positions within the global business English market to support global growth
30% PTE-Pro Global Development
-- Develop, execute and track the PTE-Pro global business plan
-- Supervision and responsibility for the PTE-Pro product
-- Develop, execute and track global marketing plan for PTE-Pro
-- Work closely with the technical, marketing teams and local VPs to develop the market for PTE-Pro
-- Establish Pan Pearson relationships to promote the development and global reach of PTE-Pro
-- Establish relationships with key decision makers at the CXO level and other appropriate Executive level positions
within the global business English market to support global growth
5% Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
• 10+ years experience in business development, account management, product development or a related area
• 2+ years experience in the Latin American market with a good working knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese would be preferred
Or
• MBA and a minimum of 5 years experience
• Licensure, certification and/or global computerized testing experience preferred
• 2+ years experience in the Latin American market with a good working knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese would be preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Travel requirements: 40% including international travel
