FOX40 is looking for a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist who can dig up unique local stories each day that are interesting and important. We want someone who can connect with viewers using creative writing and storytelling, natural sound and dynamic video. Our goal is to connect with viewers emotionally and find the stories that truly impact their lives.
Responsibilities:
Credible journalism is our foundation, accuracy and fairness our framework, breaking news our lifeblood. If you enjoy the thrill of the news hunt, the adrenaline rush of competing and the pride of winning, then you need to apply to FOX40 News.
Multimedia Journalist means you are ready, willing and able to shoot and edit, in addition to write and report. Reporter/MMJ’s work many days with FOX40’s talented and creative photographers, but other times MMJ’s are tasked to do it all. You need to be prepared to shift gears and do either.
Qualifications:
*College degree, preferably in broadcast journalism
*Knowledge of media law, newsgathering/First Amendment law, and media ethics
*Understanding of the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto market
*Final Cut Pro edit experience and video camera/photography skills
*Exceptional writing, speech, grammar and spelling
*Ability to effectively report live during breaking news.
*Expect long periods outdoors in all weather conditions
*Ability to lift 25-30 pounds of equipment required
*Clean background check, driving record and drug test required
