DESCRIPTION:
CBS4 in Miami has an opening for an General Assignment Reporter who can act as field producer and supervise cameraperson; gather news in person and via telephone; write news scripts for broadcast; write specific editing instructions for video tape editors; supply character generator operator with information for news reports; develop and maintain news sources in community suggest story ideas to assignment desk; do live reports from field or studio; write copy and assist in other areas relating to production of newscasts; provide notes, agendas, minutes and other documents for inclusion in clipping file; working knowledge of libel, slander and personal attack laws; assist other reports with transfer of information; help photographers with gear in field; perform live or prerecorded as specified by WFOR in promotional, public service or trade announcements; other such duties as may be required from time to time. Reporters may be assigned to shoot and edit their own stories
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have 3 to 5 years television reporting experience, including live reporting, series work and spot news reporting. Also have an understanding of computer systems in the newsroom.
