Yahoo’s Experimentation Analytics team is part of Yahoo Publisher Products organization. We work with big data, studying the products that 1 out of every 2 people online touch every day. We design and analyze experimental changes to the user-interface, monetization and platforms for Publisher Products. In addition we support the development of data tools and infrastructure and the establishment of a company-wide culture for data analysis and consumption.

Your Day
• Execute end-to-end experimentation and statistical analysis projects in close collaborations with Product teams
• Define new metrics, methods and techniques using your expertise in statistics and related disciplines
• Work on multiple sub-tasks within one project, prioritizing as necessary
• Guided by function goals and objectives, determine processes and provide technical direction to others around the completion of project goals
• Network with senior internal and external colleagues, communicate to transfer knowledge and to guide the understanding of objectives
You Must Have
• Master's in a relevant quantitative field + 2 years of related industry experience OR PhD in a relevant quantitative field
• Solid knowledge in statistics or data mining
• Strong programming skills in statistical software (such as Python, R or SAS) and database language (such as HIVE, PIG or SQL)
• Hands on experience with Unix and distributed computing
• Able to apply knowledge of industry/discipline standards and basic project management skills/techniques to assignments
• Able to read, understand and contribute to a pertinent scientific paper without significant guidance and invent creative solutions for small scale challenges/problems
• Able to identify and solve multi-faceted problems in own area of expertise
