Due to an increase in market opportunities, Pearson Malaysia is currently seeking a Key Account Manager to identify and develop new customers in the Higher Education industry. This exciting opportunity will see you responsible for proactively and strategically expanding business within this customer base.
As the successful candidate, you will manage and further penetrate customers at all levels and develop relationships with key accounts to identify commercial opportunity, networking and fact-finding to drive achievement of plans and objectives. You will formulate strategic and operational plans based on a solid understanding of the market trends and customer demands, with commercial and customer data.
You will use your outstanding relationship building skills to influence key stakeholders including government and non-government organisations as well as educators to position Pearson as the preferred education solutions provider. In addition to strong sales ability, you will be highly organised and will develop timely and accurate forecasts for assigned accounts and revise throughout the year which relates to budget and finances of Pearson.
Qualifications
• Strong account management and relationship building skills reflected in proven sales track record
• Business development and or/solution selling experience in B2B environment (preferable)
• Possess strong knowledge of the education sector in nominated countries including trends and business opportunity sources (preferable)
• Able to interact and present effectively with all levels of people specifically at the senior executive level within key stakeholder group
• Comfort level in working with numbers and performing statistical analysis
• Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation and influencing skills plus an ability to operate in a matrix-reporting environment
• Strong customer and learner focus with good leadership traits
• Ability to react in a fast pace and changing environment
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent, MBA is preferred
• Financial and commercial modelling
• Experience / knowledge in business-to-business sales
• Sound knowledge of the education sector and trends that create business opportunity
• Experience of managing accounts across a geography
• IT literate eg: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge and competency in educational software (preferable)
