Thrillist means fun. We're eaters, drinkers, travelers, and doers. We serve the curious and believe that new experiences are what drive the richest lives. We bring our passion, expertise, and taste to bear on the things that are truly worth your time and money. Life is for living, and that’s why we’re here. Today will be great.
We are looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to help develop the next iteration of our mature media platform, and set the direction and standards for all of our client-facing technology. Our web property delivers content to more than 18 million readers a month; you will be responsible in making sure this reaches them in the fastest, most efficient, and most visually beautiful way possible.
About you:
You are obsessed about page-load speed, and love talking about CDN hit rate, asset compression, and browser memory usage. In fact, you have probably opinions on lots of front-end topics. React or Angular 2? Favorite new feature in ES2015? We want to hear.
You also love clean, fast, and efficient CSS and Javascript, and want to help other people get to that same level. Code quality is extremely important and we want to meet someone who wholeheartedly agrees.
Qualifications:
• A expert level understanding of CSS, Javascript, and HTML You know how to build towards cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility (our traffic is close to 75% mobile web).
• A passion for front-end development, and beautiful, concise, organized code. We want you to own the front-end domain, knowing where and when to use a library (or write your own!).
• Excited about being a front end leader, recognizing when code isn’t as clean or as efficient as it absolutely possible. You must be comfortable being on a team with varying skill sets, and mentoring wherever possible.
• 5+ proven years of developing modern web applications. You know how CDNs work, the right tools to measure performance, and you love tracking and analyzing everything.
• Digital media experience, or experience with ad networks, a big plus.
