MAJOR PURPOSE:
Provide specific direction to the Genuine Merchandise Apparel and Headwear category.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee and maintain core licensee requirements.
• Regularly meet with licensees and retailers to present a coherent brand plan to the marketplace.
• Mandate a “Trend Leverage Plan” to leverage all popular apparel trends through the MLB Soft Goods business.
• Develop an executable PR Strategy for Apparel and Headwear that supports the business through all relevant channels.
• Continue the growth of customization throughout MLB Apparel and Headwear.
• Drive revenue and mindshare by expanding Major League Baseball’s brand through new product offerings.
• Track status of all MLB Genuine Merchandise legal documents (contracts, amendments, sub manufacturing agreements, changes in control, default letters) throughout entire internal routing process.
• Analyze data in monthly sales reports by licensee to drive all assigned categories at retail.
• Support all League initiatives through product in the assigned categories.
• Deliver Industry best service to the retail operations of all 30 Clubs and MLB.com.
• Develop and enforce a comprehensive corporate compliance strategy to ensure all goods are manufactured to the highest possible human rights standards.
• Ensure timely Licensee compliance to contractual terms.
• Performs related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Retail or related retail marketing and/or operations experience strongly preferred.
• Strong staff management skills.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to meet all deadlines.
• Excellent decision-making and organizational skills.
• Superior interpersonal, written communication and data entry skills.
• Strong technical aptitude including experience working with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
• Strong baseball acumen.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
