DESCRIPTION:
The CBS This Morning Broadcast Associate works alongside the Associate Producer in the Washington DC control room prior to and through the live broadcast. The BA and Associate Producer serve as a liaison during the broadcast between the DC bureau and the producing team in the New York control room. Additional duties during the show include: preparing correspondents for live hits and producing liveshots both in-house and in the field. After the show, the BA works with CTM producers to gather elements for packages, as well as coordinates logistics for the following morning’s liveshots. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and has the ability to both multi-task and keep a calm head under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
Responsibilities Include:
-Managing logistics for morning liveshots:
-Field producing interviews and live segments
-Helping to launch correspondents and crews for late-breaking stories
-Reviewing and coordinating copy and scripts
-Collaborating with correspondents, producers, and the Washington News Desk to confirm stories for air-Gathering elements for taped pieces
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Internship or comparable experience working on a news broadcast
-Bachelor’s in Communications or related discipline
-Field producing experience helpful
-Able to work under pressure and under strict deadlines
-Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
-Able to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
-An interest in Washington stories
