Senior Manager, Strategy (LOCATION: SAN FRANCISCO)
The Strategy Group works directly with senior leadership and has a dual mandate to (1) help set and execute on global and business line strategy and (2) lead on special transactions and projects. The group serves our leadership team on their highest priorities. Examples include: developing fundraising strategy; structuring, evaluating and negotiating deals; owning strategy, planning and execution for incubating business lines; and, evaluating regional performance and areas for improvement. This is a small group composed of individuals who were previously at top-tier consultancies, investment banks and private equity firms. As a member of this team, you will be expected to work closely with senior executives across the company, as well as cross-functionally with leaders of our various lines of business. The right candidate will have a strong sense of ownership and have excellent problem solving, people and communication skills.
Your Responsibilities
• Solving the problems different business lines and functions experience as we grow
• Assessing unique transactions, from both a strategic and value-creation potential perspective
• Working with our colleagues to implement our team's recommendations
• Overseeing development of detailed financial models and valuation analyses for potential transactions (with ability to run analysis if needed)
• Working closely with our legal and financial teams to negotiate deals
• Creating compelling presentations for review with our executive team and senior management
• Leading negotiations of transaction terms and legal documentation
Requirements
• 4-6 years of work experience at top-tier investment bank, consultancy or private equity fund (real estate background a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience in technology, media and/or real estate preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and analysis
• Experience performing comprehensive analyses on variety of problems or transaction structures
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter capable of working independently
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience working effectively as part of a small team
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with quick deadlines
• Ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and driven by a new challenge
• Willingness to travel is important
