Purpose Of The Job
The Sr Director of Global Delivery will be responsible for leading International logistics strategies to achieve corporate fiscal objectives while providing highest levels of service using functional best practices. This position will report to the SVP of Global Logistics.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Manage key vendor relationships, including freight consolidators/forwarders, customs brokers, & drayage companies to execute HMI’s logistics programs and help quickly resolve any freight problems that may arise.
• Negotiate logistics services and pricing agreements with providers.
• Coordinate budget process by developing resources analysis, inventory control, staffing optimization as required by operation
• Work with corporate and division leaders to create and implement continuous improvement in all aspects of performance
• Administers the company’s international freight rates program and works closely with accounting and merchandising leadership in the budgeting and proper administration of the company’s freight costing program.
• Ensure compliance with the use of international shipping regulations and terms, including customs documents, duties and duty drawback, HTS codes, INCO terms, liability, and source of potential charges.
• Continuously improve procedures, processes and system capability using key performance indicators to ensure year over year transportation cost improvements.
• Works closely with other senior level leaders both within and outside of the company to resolve highly complex and sensitive issues.
• Translate strategic goals and revenue targets into tactical execution.
• Responsible for the professional development of a strong self-directed team to include training, coaching, and work assignment designed to promote team and individual growth, while providing support to customers that adds value to the business.
Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes
• High-level understanding of international and domestic logistics concepts and operations.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in international logistics.
• Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred.
• Strong business acumen around the cost components of international flow of merchandise
• Strong analytical, negotiating and supplier management skills
• Ability to analyze large data sets using well-honed computer software skills to develop insights and conclusions for the business
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written format to all levels of leadership
• Effective change champion supporting business transition and re-positioning initiatives.
