Role Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the Corporate and Professional Services Sourcing team, providing the strategic vision and supporting the team as they execute on the global strategies.
This person will be solely responsible for ensuring that all metrics related to implementing policies and processes to optimize spend and reduce cost are implemented and delivered across the Corporate Services categories which include: Technical Services, BPO, Staff Augmentation, Consulting Services, HR Services & Benefits, Subcontracted System Integrators, Travel, and Memberships. S/he will also collaborate closely with the global procurement team to exchange subject matter expertise on various projects. This person will be the go-to Strategic Sourcing representative for a wide range of senior executives throughout Salesforce. This position will report to Vice President of Global Sourcing, and ideally will be based in San Francisco or Indianapolis but other US cities will be also considered.
Responsibilities
Customize the global strategic sourcing vision, leading the team in:
• Establishing team goals, objectives, and operating procedures in line with the overall business plans and objectives of the business units that this team supports.
• Provide strategic consulting and analytic perspective to key business stakeholders on procurement approaches and risks.
• Lead change management efforts related to implementing Strategic Sourcing’s strategy
• Drive strategic cost optimization efforts through process improvements, contractual efficiencies and elimination of wastes; achieve and exceed annual cost savings goals.
• Ensure that the team receives coaching and guidance on professional matters as well as developmental assistance for their career progression
• Consistently look for opportunities to leverage global buying power by keeping ongoing dialogue with the colleagues across the global Procurement organization.
• Lead the development, communication and implementation of Category Strategies for all sourcing categories
• Proactively build sourcing pipeline, showing the path to deliver and exceed savings targets
• Seek opportunities to leverage global deals and global suppliers across the region and enterprise
• Contribute to building cross-functional team, operating in a collaborative spirit
• Actively participate and lead some aspects of building supplier relationship program (SRM), pipeline tool, improving contract management, redesigning savings process, etc.
• Serve as liaison between Global Strategic Sourcing, the business, and the Supplier community.
• Develop strong partnerships and nurture a positive business relationship with internal stakeholders and suppliers to understand their processes; short and long term business objectives, strategic direction and goals while providing ‘Customer Focus’ attitude.
• Align team’s goals with the business objectives of key stakeholders
• Provide holistic – strategic and tactical primary Sourcing support for internal business partners for sourcing requests, performing market analysis, provide spend data insights and recommendations, and develop business case for new projects
• Consistently seek and implement ways to improve the processes, eliminate tactical activities and deliver highly efficient process
• Be the main escalation point of contact from a Strategic Sourcing perspective across the company globally
Required Skills
• Bachelors Degree is required. MS/MBA/MA degree is desired.
• 10 years of Global Procurement/Strategic Sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role with the record of successful completion of global projects
• Experience in building category strategies, sourcing pipeline, savings methodology
• Ability to collect, understand, interpret, and present various analytical data
• Complete fluency with MS office and G-suite products, along with web navigation and spend/savings databases
• Experience presenting to the executives, professional gravitas, confident and assertive presentation style, explaining complex procurement issues in an audience-friendly format
• Strategy and analytics experience, preferably at a consulting firm.
• Experience in sourcing corporate and professional services
• Experience managing a global contingent labor program
• Positive, encouraging and inspirational leadership style, genuine care for the team's success
• Proven success in developing and executing strategic procurement programs resulted in cost savings and efficiencies.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to distill ideas into compelling presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully influence senior management and critical stakeholders.
• Exceptionally developed interpersonal and relationship skills as evidenced by successfully influencing and leading change in a highly matrixed environment.
• Highly developed business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, and process engineering and re-engineering skills.
• Demonstrated experience as a "thought leader" - sought after for advice, counsel and judgment.
• Demonstrated success in hiring, developing, retaining and coaching staff.
