DESCRIPTION
D1 is the internal creative agency setting design and brand direction for Amazon’s global brand. Our mission is to be the most customer-centric collective of creative thinkers, dreamers and doers. Our mission is to create beautiful visual designs, communications, on-site graphics, photography, videos, style guides, and user experiences. We are responsible for branding and the creative development of style guides for the Amazon master brand and collaborate with business partners around the world to support a wide range of devices, services, features, and retail categories. We apply strategic insight to delight customers - driving discovery, engagement, and trust. We’re growing quickly and hiring the best. This is day one.
Are you a Creative Director with the ability to work across channels with big thinking and a passion for design craft? Can you lead and inspire a creative team on big ideas and strategic brand development, campaign initiatives, product and service launches, and onsite retail experiences? Can you develop a vision, quickly bring concepts to life as prototypes, then iterate and refine them as you gather and factor in customer and business requirements?
The ideal candidate will have a deep portfolio that demonstrates creative excellence in bringing major brands and products to life. This role is for a highly capable creative leader who can direct internal and external creative resources, and has the composure and communication talent to effectively present to senior executives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience driving compelling creative strategy and execution.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Develop, inspire and build the Global Brand team within Amazon’s internal agency to deliver creative breakthrough campaigns.
• Establish and foster a culture that enables world-class creative development.
• Effectively develop cross functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop ad strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions.
• Hands on creative development for key initiatives across channels.
• Deep understanding of digital and new media.
• Lead creative development of innovative brand creative, from concept to delivery.
• Develop ideas that will deploy across Amazon businesses globally.
• Own, develop and evangelize brand personality and purpose globally.
• Quickly develop concept mockups to visualize new ideas in context.
• Present creative concepts effectively to senior executives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with a world-class design studio, advertising agency or internal corporate agency.
• Unwavering dedication to design craft from idea to execution.
• Have strong bias for action in a fast-paced, metric driven environment.
• Curiosity to dig several layers deep into success metrics, have an innate desire to understand key drivers.
• Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on creative projects, and history of establishing effective creative development processes.
• Demonstrated business acumen, including experience of budgeting and resourcing.
• Self-motivated team player, with refined and assertive leadership skills.
• The ability to influence others to set and achieve goals and deadlines.
• Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business and user interaction priorities.
• Demonstrated experience managing creative processes through external ad agencies, internal teams and freelancers.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
