Job Details
Responsibilities when running a project instance include: Work with Engineering and Product Management to support strategic planning and execution. Partner with other leaders to break down and organize work for each program/project into an executable plan with clear documentation and communication to stakeholders. Perform consistent tracking of status, regular reporting on program/project status to stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization. In this role the ability to communicate effectively with MuleSoft leaders, product management, engineering, and product marketing teams, as well as members of the field organization and distributed team members is critical.
The Program Director also gathers feedback and requirements from program stakeholders and performs analysis to see how the program can be enhanced to improve the end-user experience and then work with necessary stakeholders to plan and implement those changes in an effective way.
Key Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (internal and external-facing)
• Establish a program governance and ongoing cadence of meetings and reporting
• Demonstrate knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and managing programs/projects
• Proactive in asking relevant questions to facilitate discussion and keep meetings productive
• Enough technical background to understand how our product works and communicate effectively with engineering about them
• Work with cross-functional engineering teams to drive accountability of program planning and delivery
• Develop trusted relationships with leaders and key stakeholders to drive program strategic objectives and optimize program delivery
• Highly organized and independent in managing their own work and schedule while coaching other team members to do the same
• Oversee and lead change management on program-induced changes
• Ability to lead and manage small groups
• Rigorous application of systems thinking: Ability to identify gaps and optimize process with project change impacts on people and teams at all levels.
• Skillfully gather and analyze information, and identify ways in mitigating risks and resolving issues
• Project plan development & implementation using a variety of tools
• Fast learner: Able to quickly address gaps in skills and knowledge to meet program management demands
• Basic analytics skills (standard statistical analysis and ability to implement in spreadsheets or equivalent function editor)
• Continuous improvement - create / update guidelines to improve processes and team efficiencies
