We are seeking a Director, Analyst Relations to drive a critical, cross-functional role influencing external technical analysts and leading analyst firms by introducing them to MediaMath product management, engineering, communications, sales and marketing teams. This role collaborates with the Strategy Team to develop competitive briefs and positioning documents and present this body of information to industry analysts.
The Director, Analyst Relations will have a strong background in market research, communications, data analysis, and competitive positioning. This role requires the ability to work on multiple fast paced projects simultaneously, strong analytical skills, and experience evaluating qualitative and quantitative research.
What you’ll do:
• Develop, manage and execute a targeted Analyst Relations plan for MediaMath’ business; educate the most influential technical analysts who work with existing or prospective MediaMath clients
• Influence strategy and sales and improve analyst perceptions and relationships year-over-year
• Influence analyst research on MediaMath, its competitors and the markets that MediaMath competes in; shape the perception of MediaMath and the value it brings to its customers; own MediaMath’s participation in competitive evaluations (Magic Quadrants [MQs], Waves etc.) and work to improve
• MediaMath’s standing in influential reports
• Respond to competitive evaluations (MQ’s and Waves) that require a 4-6-week project management cycle of reading, coordinating responses and persuasively writing replies that will land MediaMath in the leadership position in these evaluations
• Connect key MediaMath executives with expert analysts for advisory sessions to help define and influence offering strategy. Prepare competitive briefs and presentations for business units to present from
• Manage and procure paid strategic research projects on behalf of MediaMath to ensure that key analyst firms are actively engaged with MediaMath offerings
• Support the creation of long and short-form content inclusive of white papers, blog posts, social media and public relations materials
What you’ll need:
Background
• 8+ years of diverse work experience in marketing communications, product marketing, strategy, analyst relations, market research, communications
• Solid understanding of the advertising technology space including the roles of exchanges, brands, agencies, DSPs and publishers
• Established relationships with analysts in the ad tech space
Skills
• Experience managing external agencies, budgets
• An understanding of B2B marketing technologies preferred
Traits
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Executive presence to present to senior management regarding the market, competitive landscape and analyst outlook
• Candidate should be entrepreneurial, resourceful, a team player
• The ability to perform quickly under pressure
