Director, Sales Operations - Network & Workload Security
What You’ll Do
We have an exciting Worldwide Director of Sales Operations role open as part of our Global Security Sales Organization focused on our Network and Workload Security portfolio. You will be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial-minded sales professional who has a real passion for delivering our highest growth security franchises and services that protect our customers. As part of your DNA, you are a bold, self-starter with the ability to build executive relationships, develop and execute sales strategies and tactics that maximize Cisco’s opportunity within the customer environment, position and promote the partner and customer value proposition for Cisco’s Security Architecture, articulate Cisco’s Security product and business strategies, and create the demand that makes deals happen!
You will:
• Define the overall GTM strategy for our Network & Workload Security portfolio, identifying, developing and implementing key initiatives to execute against this sales strategy
• Lead/coach teams through Account Planning, Opportunity Identification, POVs/Demos, and Customer Value Selling
• Exceed bookings goal, manage OPEX goal, and maintain forecast accuracy; provide visibility and in-depth knowledge into numbers (customer insights, macro/micro trends, consumption models) during business reviews
• Attract, develop and retain high performance teams (career development, coaching, performance management and hiring). Work seamlessly with extended field teams and other architectures (e.g. Enterprise Networking and Data Center teams) to sell and position the Network & Workload Security portfolio.
• Strategically lead and influence your own team along with integrated cross-functional teams including the Security Business Unit, Customer Experience, Capital, Partners, internal GSSO Sales teams, Marketing, and Cisco’s Executive Sales Team
• Be expected to strategically drive Cisco's Network & Workload Security vision for our customers, as well as maintain an in-depth understanding of competitive conditions, industry practices, market opportunities, and customer requirements.
• Focus on contributing to the long term GSSO success by being a collaborative leader amongst your peers. Consistently striving to improve and reinvent yourself.
Who You’ll Work With
This is a Managing Director level position responsible for leading and executing against Worldwide Sales goals for the Global Security Sales Organization focused on our Network & Workload Security portfolio.
The Director of Operations will lead a small direct team responsible for sales strategy, business development and program execution but must work seamlessly across a large geographically dispersed group of specialist security sellers and non-security specialist sellers. The individual must possess excellent collaboration skills and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining good relations with Global Security sales leadership, Channels Leadership, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Security Business Unit, the wider Field organization and teams within other architectures critical to the success of the Network & Workload Security portfolio. The individual must be highly attuned to working across a matrixed organization and strong focus on field enablement to drive scale and momentum in these offerings with specialists and non-specialists alike.
Who You Are
• 8+ years management experience, ideal candidate should possess both sales leadership and cross functional/general management experience
• 10+ years in management roles selling solutions to senior executives in Commercial, Public Sector, Enterprise and Service Provider accounts
• Experience in the Network Security and/or Workload Security portfolio area
• Strong experience in demand and pipeline generation
• Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence cross-functionally.
• Demonstrated track record managing significant revenue responsibility and or profit/loss center and overachieving targets to meet stretch goals
• Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals.
• Strong executive presence, polish, and political savvy
• Strong leadership skills in coaching and developing a sales organization
• Excellent communication skills and ability to persuade -- using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead in a matrix-managed team culture.
