Description:
As the result of continued growth of our business Salesforce.com has an immediate opening for aDirector, Strategic Sourcing, Marketing and Eventswith strong subject matter expertise in the Marketing and Meetings and Events (M&E) categories. The position will be based in San Francisco, with a possibility of being based out of Atlanta, GA
Key Responsibilities
• Lead a team of sourcing professionals in all procurement and sourcing activities related to Marketing and M&E categories
• Prepare and execute category strategies for each one of the related subcategories, including but not limited to Public Relations, Creative, Film and Photography, Advertising, Marketing Technology, Experiential Marketing
• Lead market and industry analysis, supplier research and review, category and supplier segmentation, sourcing events, analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation
• Lead Supplier Relationship Management activities and initiatives within the Marketing and M&E categories
• Initiate and cultivate strong partnerships with business stakeholders that enable the procurement process, including but not limited to: Sourcing Operations, Legal, Risk Management, Compliance, Information Security, Tax, Treasury, Accounts Payable, etc
• Initiate and cultivate strong relationships/partnerships with all business partners and internal customers in Marketing for that specific category and across the whole organization for the Events category
• Oversee and enforce company policies including the Global Procurement policy
• Lead/participate in business improvement initiatives that streamline the day to day activities and enable the team to scale with the growth of the company
• Proactively initiate spend segmentation, opportunity analysis, present to key stakeholders uncustomary, nontraditional, non-conventional solution
• Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and extended team members
• Lead the savings generation process by proactively building the projects pipeline, participating in business and opportunities assessment and removing possible roadblocks for execution
• Market and socialize the team and function across all business customers and stakeholders in order to increase the extended department footprint and involvement on key company initiatives.
• Contribute to building a world class procurement organization
• Partner with key executives to create new opportunities for Strategic Sourcing involvement not only in Procurement activities but also in added value and revenue making initiatives
• Become a strong brand advocate and company culture ambassador
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Administration or related field
• Master degree is preferred but not required
• At least 12 years of Procurement/Sourcing experience
• At least 5 years of people management experience
• Subject Matter Expertise in Marketing and M&E, a combination of “in-house” procurement and consulting roles
• Hand-on experience negotiating with Creative Agencies, Public Relations, Experiential Marketing, etc
• Proven track record as a Sourcing Leader
• Proven track record on savings achievement
• Seasoned negotiator. Ability to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change
• Critical thinker; have a mindset of a problem solvermatt
• Analytical minded, a passion for numbers will enable the candidate to succeed on this position
• Strong executive presence and polished presentation skills
• Great communicator: Strong written, verbal, presentation and listening skills
• Proven track record on formal business process improvement initiatives and applying kaizen, six sigma, lean principles
• Can effectively articulate various perspectives and impacts of issues and project them into the future. Able to see all sides and the inherent value to stakeholders
• Can work through tough agreements and settle disputes effectively
• Anticipates and adjusts for problems and obstacles
• Organizational Agility – knows how to get things done both through formal and informal channels and effective managing organization hierarchy (managing up)
• Priority Setting – Spends his/ her time and the time of others on what’s most important. Eliminates roadblocks and creates focus
