Director, Audible Originals
DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Audible Originals deals team you will support the Sr. Director and Vice President, Audible Originals & Strategic Partnerships in the negotiation and execution of Originals deals. This role will partner closely with the Original Content team, and will work closely with internal divisions to greenlight and support a high volume of new content deals. Additionally, you will participate in other business development activities related to Audible Originals content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Sr. Director, Audible Originals & Strategic Partnerships in the creation and negotiation of Originals deals and larger Strategic Partnerships.
• Structure, negotiate and enter into new deals with content creators, agents, managers, other rights holders and business development partners
• Grow and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners, such as authors, agents, managers, and publishers
• Partner with Originals Creative team, with each deal having a partner from original content development and/or editorial.
• Work closely with other key stakeholders within Audible, including Audible Studios Acquisitions team, Content Services, Original Creative team, Business Intelligence, Marketing, PR, and Merchandising.
• Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
• Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at Audible to maintain consistency in messaging and policy
• Some travel required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• College Degree required
• Minimum 7 years’ experience
• Strong analytical/decision making and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas in a simple manner across different levels of an organization
• Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence
• Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
• Solid organizational and project management skills are also required along with the ability to work with cross functional teams under aggressive deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong relationships with talent and/or literary agents, as well as talent managers preferred
• Proven success in a content, media rights or digital media department or experience at a digital media company
