Our Finance team builds the financial infrastructure to scale our growing company. We combine analytical and strategic thinking to develop a sound financial future for our global brand. We work closely with teams across the company, as well as with external partners.
Role Description
The Corporate Development team works across Dropbox to bring world-class companies, technology, and talent into the company through acquisitions. The team is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, structuring, and executing impactful acquisitions, as well as informing the company’s strategy by identifying industry trends and maintaining relationships with companies, investors and bankers.
Responsibilities
This is a unique opportunity to be a core member of a high-impact team situated at the nexus of product, engineering, go-to-market, finance and the broader strategic efforts at Dropbox.
• This person will be an integral member of the team responsible for developing, implementing and managing Dropbox’s integration strategies and initiatives.
• You will build out and continuously improve integration capabilities by developing frameworks for integration, identifying process improvements, and implementing best practices and tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• You will lead and take ownership for all aspects of the integration efforts, while working with a team of functional experts across the company and external consultants.
• You will participate in evaluations during due diligence for M&A to understand the strategic objectives, help assess the candidate company, and provide an early voice on integration planning, risks, and challenges.
• You will develop a comprehensive project plan which includes all work streams and functional team tasks to achieve the success metrics.
• You will monitor status and rapidly identify issues pertaining to an acquisition, succinctly communicate those issues to the appropriate teams, and work the issues to resolve before any acquisition value deteriorates.
• You will work closely with our product teams to execute integration plans in a way to ensure Dropbox captures value from our acquisitions.
• You will stay abreast of Dropbox’s priorities and exemplify our culture to effectively represent and support acquired company or team through the integration
• You will continuously improve Dropbox’s M&A integration capability through process improvement, performance measurement, and team development
Requirements
• Exhibit strong strategic thinking and rigorous analytical skills
• Solid written and verbal communications ability, influencing skills, inspirational leadership, and understanding stakeholder needs.
• Ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, and trust across internal stakeholders and with founders/ executives at target companies, and be viewed as a team player.
• Exceptional strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to operate at all organization levels.
• A track record of successful cross-functional leadership and delivery through collaboration and effective relationships.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to track and manage complex processes from start to finish.
• Willingness to travel (as needed)
• A minimum of 10+ years experience preferably at a leading technology company or startup.
• A minimum of 5+ years experience working in M&A Integrations.
