Location Guidance : San Francisco, CA. and Bellevue, WA.
The Big Data & Monitoring/Streaming Product Management team provides the products and the platform on which Salesforce applications run. Our product portfolio covers storage, compute & transport for Big Data and the full monitoring stack including monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing and visibility. Our products run at a trillions of data-points per day scale and are available and performant. Our products go across multiple infrastructure substrates and run in both Public Cloud and our Data Centers. We are big believers in, and active contributors to the Open Source community.
As a Product Manager for Big Data and Monitoring/Streaming Platform, you will help shape the direction of not only our existing products but also create and deliver new products to further differentiate Salesforce and strengthen its market leadership position. You will set the product roadmap, drive internal and external customer adoption and build multi-substrate products which work on both Public Cloud and our Data Centers. Our ideal candidate is familiar with Big Data technologies such as data transport pipelines (Kafka), Storage (NoSQL) and compute frameworks, understands Performance Monitoring, Tracing, Alerting and Analytics. In your previous roles you have built and launched enterprise products which are secure by default, had clear SLAs, crisp documentation and clear on-boarding experience.
You enjoy working with customers, are a keen reader of people, culture and team dynamics and build relationships to make things happen and achieve customer and business success. You are open minded and can easily move across tactical and strategic asks. You are truly great at creating compelling narratives on Buy vs Build, Try & Buy products and building a vibrant customer & partner community to drive product success, adoption and customer reference. You will have great executive presence and are a communication superstar.
Responsibilities:
• Define product strategy for our Big Data and Monitoring/Streaming product portfolio.
• Define Minimum Viable product, functional requirements, Release plans and Roadmap in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Is responsible for the entire Product Lifecycle from concept to delivery - collaborating with Marketing, Finance, Sales, Legal, Program Management, UX, Engineering, DevOps and Support
• Ability to prioritize based on customer need, risk impact and strategic demands is a key requirement of the role.
• Fill the business development pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers.
• Work closely with the customer base to ensure their success, making sure they have the technical resources required.
• Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.
• Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to shipping new services and features
• Translate business objectives into execution strategy (tactical and strategic through input into the Long Range Plan (LRP), V2MOMs, etc.), lead and successfully execute the strategy through strong collaboration and agile leadership.
• Work with multiple delivery teams to take ownership and accountability of technical project planning and delivery for programs.
• Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent programs from delivering on program objectives.
• Drive for clarity to keep teams moving forward.
• Provide “go to” leadership, transparency and visibility to the entire Technology & Products organization.
Experience/Skills Required:
• Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or related field; MBA preferred
• 10+ years enterprise level software product management with experience in product design, user experience, and new product development
• 5+ years of prior experience and background in Big Data and Monitoring/Streaming products a must.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment.
• Thorough understanding of infrastructure processes and lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.
• Self starter, entrepreneurial, strategic planner with proven ability to drive projects and strong analytical skills
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Some travel between San Francisco and Seattle required.
