Job Details
This role is responsible for owning the Global Sales Compensation Organization at Salesforce.org. This includes managing the end to end Global Sales Compensation process of driving the monthly and quarterly operations, Strategy & Design, Policy & Guidelines and commissions analytics. This role will manage a team of people to execute these tasks. This role is part of the Global Finance & Strategy team and will report to the VP of Finance.
With top-line and Headcount exceeding 40% YoY growth, this role calls for a strong, proactive individual who has a proven track record who can autonomously drive projects in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
• In partnership with Global Sales VPs, create, implement, and govern the Sales Compensation Policy and Guidelines on an Annual basis to match the needs of the business sales programs
• Manage a team of analysts to drive the monthly Sales Compensation closing process. This includes accurately assigning quota credits, attainment results and processing the resulting commission payments
• Clearly document and implement all policies around crediting rules involving attrition, renewals, add-on’s, product swaps, and ramp pricing
• Own the Case Management process and inquiries for the Sales organization to ensure transparency and excellent customer service
• Participate in Monthly SVP Sales leadership meeting, presenting attainment, commissions, and Spiffs analysis, and Sales Metrics. Continue to evolve the Sales Attainment analytics from what is currently being reported.
• Establish internal audit rules and practices to ensure 100% accuracy of all Attainment and Commissions calculations
• Play the role as Finance Business Partner and trusted advisor for the Sales organization and Employee Success for ad hoc requests and general compensation questions
• Oversee the design, creation, and distribution of all Compensation Plans for the Sales organization throughout the year, specifically at the beginning of each fiscal year
• Facilitate process improvements and business rules that allow the organization to grow in an efficient and scalable manner
• Understand and implement impact of Accounting Standards 606 and the impact on Commissions accounting
• Report timely and accurately both Commissions and Spiffs to the Payroll, Accounting, and FP&A team
• Play an integral role in the Finance team’s quarterly Planning and Outlook processes with respect to Sales headcount and commissions forecasting.
Experience/Skills
• Bachelor's degree required, MBA or CPA preferred
• 8+ years Experience in Sales Compensation management and operations, crediting, quotas, and attainment measures, including experience at a global company
• Experience in Sales Finance business partnership and operations
• Experience presenting to and collaborating with VP level senior executives
• SaaS experience strongly preferred
• Track-record in process re-engineering and optimization
• Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment
• Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Able to think strategically and operate effectively with management
• Experience with the following systems - Workday and Anaplan
• Advance Excel modeling skills
