THE ROLE: We’re looking for…
A Senior Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic partner in the overall management and growth of the company. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO of Rue Gilt Groupe, the SVP, Finance will be responsible for management of the business plan and his or her team will provide financial insights that will drive strategic decisions, financial forecasts, and operating plans.
What you’ll accomplish…
• Have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities for the business.
• Drive financial performance through high quality decision support and FP&A.
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization, including FP&A, Enterprise Accounting, Fraud Analyses, A/P, A/R, General Ledger, etc.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place supporting compliance with GAAP, SOX, IFRS and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring for the Finance & Accounting department staff
• Create an environment that inspires, fosters and encourages team members to express differing views, approaches and solutions that deliver the best results for the company
• Prepare routine tax filings (income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes, etc.)
• Provide leadership in the development, implementation and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives and M&A opportunities
• Establish annual financial objectives which align with the company’s plans for operations, growth and expansion; including revenues, expenses and overall profitability
• Lead and manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation and reporting to ensure that all stakeholders have the appropriate tools to forecast results both internally and externally.
• Improve the financial planning and analysis processes and rigor to provide even higher value-added decision-making support to leaders across the organization
• Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, cash flows, margins and forecasts
• Provide key financial information and operational analytics by accurately reporting and analyzing the company financial reporting and performance
• Establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization to identify business needs and seek a full range of business solutions
• Drive the organizational talent agenda through development, retention and recruitment efforts for the Finance & Accounting function
THE RIGHT FIT:
• This position requires the SVP, Finance be an exceptional business partner, responsible for challenging and supporting the business, increasing the company’s ability to anticipate business issues, and driving informed decision-making through sound financial management.
• The successful candidate must have the ability to function in a constantly evolving, highly entrepreneurial environment at a broad-based, strategic level while being capable of driving detailed, tactical execution.
• The SVP, Finance will oversee a direct team to include the Controller and VP, Strategic Planning, alongside a broader finance team.
• It is critical that this individual develop an in-depth, comprehensive understanding of the operations, financial performance, and strategies for the organization through regular interaction with company executives and business leaders.
• A “big picture” mentality is critical, coupled with the ability to make connections to company-level strategy and development. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of accomplishments within finance and have the capability to manage the scope, scale and complexity inherent in the role.
• The SVP, Finance will be a proven finance executive with progressive experience leading and driving finance in a retail and/or e-commerce company of scale and complexity.
• Experience working within a publicly traded, multi-brand e-commerce environment and successfully driving transformational initiatives will be highly desirable.
• This individual should have extensive ERP experience, with PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a must have; MBA is preferred.
