• Lead and oversee development of regional accounting function
• Set up, implement and provide training on the monthly accounting close for the region
• Define, optimize and implement global accounting processes: create timelines and project plans for key initiatives
• Define and help prioritize initiatives by creating realistic timelines based on resource capacity
• Partner with global finance functions (strategic finance, shared services, tax, accounting, treasury and development) to serve as a point person for the region
• Collaborate with counterpart in NY HQ to roll out global processes, while providing input on regional nuances
• Deliver regionally modified training materials and lead regional training sessions specific to each country with adherence to HQ driven system and process updates
• Identify opportunities for process improvement
• Assist with information requirements related to the execution of periodic audits
Qualifications
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 3+ years progressive work experience
• CPA preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Has competent knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• Detail oriented and self-sufficient
• Temporary international relocation may be required for up to 6 months
